Helping you
desex & microchip your animals

We offer Snip 'n' Chip and other discounted desexing vouchers across Aotearoa New Zealand at different times of the year.

Desexing and microchipping are key ways to improve animal welfare in Aotearoa New Zealand.

Desexing reduces the number of unwanted litters, improves welfare for these animals, and positively impacts the environment. Microchipping is a great way to help owners be reunited with their lost pets.

SNIP ‘N’ CHIP COMES TO AUCKLAND!

We are excited to be launching a new Snip ‘n’ Chip campaign for cat owners in various suburbs throughout the Auckland region.

From 11 September 2024 we are working with local participating veterinary clinics, Auckland Council and five Local Boards to offer this service to cat owners who need a helping hand with desexing and microchipping. Vouchers help those in need get their cat desexed and microchipped for FREE.

Bookings are now OPEN! Click "Book Now" to check if you’re eligible and register for your Snip ‘n’ Chip voucher. If your cat is already desexed, you can use your voucher to have your cat microchipped and registered on the NZCAR database.

Snip ‘n’ Chip availability is dependent on vet clinic capacity, is limited to targeted postcodes and only available until vouchers sell out. If know someone who is not able to access the internet, or needs help with the online system, you can register on their behalf (using their details) or complete the registration alongside them.

Thank you to our participating vet clinics, as well as Auckland Council and the Māngere-Ōtāhuhu, Maungakiekie-Tāmaki, Ōrākei, Ōtara-Papatoetoe and Puketāpapa Local Boards, for helping us make this important campaign possible.

Please remember: This campaign is for cats only. A limited number of vouchers are available to help those who require financial assistance. Please, only get a voucher if you need one, intend to use it and live in the postcode area.  In the past, we have noticed some vouchers were never used, or bookings were made with vet clinics and never attended. When this happens, it prevents someone else from using the voucher who might really need it.
